This policy explains how the Wanganui Kerala Association collects, uses and protects your personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the association: your name, contact details, membership details, and — for family memberships — the names, relationships and dates of birth of your family members. Dates of birth are used to plan age-appropriate activities and to report head counts for children's events.
How we use it
- To manage your membership and process payments.
- To let you know about events, programmes and association news.
- To issue and validate event tickets.
- To keep accurate financial records as required of an incorporated society.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or trade your information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — such as our payment gateway and email or SMS providers — and only to the extent needed to deliver that service.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Account deletion can be requested from your member portal. When a deletion is approved, your personal details are deleted or anonymised; financial transaction records are retained in anonymised form because the association is required to keep accurate accounts.
